SB & Q: Values & Buying

The Sutherland Brothers & Quiver albums do not feature in any of the "Record Values" books that I own. They have tended to be easily available in vinyl format from the regular resellers - Gemm, Music Stack, eBay, etc. You can pick up a number of the band's singles for around £2 ($3) each, although the band's early life (as New Generation) has singles selling now for up to £40. Vinyl versions of albums are fairly easily obtainable at sensible prices. However, some of the CD releases are now out of print and copies have become quite rare.

Below is a listing of some of the LPs and CDs that are on sale from various sellers, with examples of their prices in January 2011. These prices are in Pounds Sterling. The present exchange rate is approximately £1 = $1.60. The prices given are for albums in good condition. Second-hand albums with damaged or marked sleeves ought to cost less, depending on supply & demand. I've given the price these items are selling for on Gemm, Music Stack, eBay and Amazon (see below for links). Some of these prices are extraordinary or outrageous and should not be taken seriously, although they are absolutely genuine. I've listed the dearest one I've seen in the Excess Prices column.

The CD prices are those for the Columbia CDs that were issued in the period 2000-2003 and not the ones currently being reissued by Talking Elephant Records, which can be obtained at regular prices.

If you are looking to obtain any albums by SB&Q, you might try your local record store for the CDs that have been re-released by CBS, etc. The biggest range of new material on the web will be available from Amazon.
