In 2007, I was employed by South Lanarkshire Council to supervise
the merger of two schools into a new-build school on the site of one
of the existing schools. Vital, in this process, was good, sensitive
communication, as there was an element of disquiet over both the
need for a merger and the siting of the new school. The principal method of communicating with pupils, parents and school staff was through a glossy, four-page newsletter.
